The Queenstown Story;
A journey through three hundred years of Irish Emigration, social, naval and maritime history. It tells real stories about real people – from the indentured servants who went to the U.S. colonies and the West Indies in the 17th century to the early settlers who went to Canada and the U.S . The hardship of the Great Famine and the mass emigration that followed as well as the transportation of convicts to Australia is also chillingly told. The close connection between Cobh ( Queenstown) and Titanic and The Lusitania and their tragic stories are also recalled.
This is a self-guided tour but we have audio units available in French, German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish to help those whose English is not great.
